About BestDecks.ca
BestDecks builds custom decks across Canada. Licensed local crews in every city, one BestDecks contract, one warranty. Composite, cedar, PVC — engineered for Canadian climates.
Our story.
BestDecks started the way most good building companies do — with one crew, one backyard, and a stack of cedar. That first deck went up in Toronto in the spring, and the neighbours started asking who built it. Fifteen years later, BestDecks builds custom decks in every Canadian province, from Vancouver Island to Cape Breton.
We grew the way a deck grows: one solid foundation at a time. Instead of franchising or running a call centre, we brought on licensed local crews — real builders who know their city's climate, permit offices, and suppliers. Every crew works under one BestDecks contract and one BestDecks warranty, so you get local expertise with national accountability.
What we do.
BestDecks builds custom decks across Canada. Our licensed local crews handle everything — design, permits, materials, foundations, framing, decking, railings, stairs, lighting, and finishing — all under one BestDecks contract.
You deal with one company. One quote. One project manager. One warranty. We build in composite, pressure-treated wood, cedar, PVC, ipê, and aluminum — matched to your climate, budget, and how you actually use your backyard. Whether it's a 200 sq ft starter deck in Calgary or a 1,200 sq ft waterfront build in Muskoka, the same standards apply: NBC-compliant framing, properly-specced footings, and a crew that shows up when they said they would.
How we research.
Fifteen years of building Canadian decks has taught us what actually works — and what fails three winters in. Every crew at BestDecks builds to the National Building Code of Canada (NBC 2020) and the current provincial amendments, using CSA-certified fasteners and structural hardware. We maintain a live internal code reference that our project managers check before every permit submission.
Our pricing isn't scraped from a database — it's the real price our crews quoted on real jobs this quarter, updated every 90 days. When regulations change, our crews know within days because our operations team tracks provincial bulletins. That's why a BestDecks quote in Ontario reflects the 2024 OBC Section 9.8 amendments, and a BestDecks quote in BC reflects the current BCBC wind load tables for your postal code.
Where we build.
BestDecks crews build in every Canadian province — from Vancouver Island cedar decks to Halifax composite builds to Muskoka cottage platforms. Whether you're building your first deck on a new home in Calgary, replacing a rotting 20-year-old pressure-treated deck in Mississauga, or designing a multi-level waterfront build in the Kawarthas, there's a BestDecks crew licensed, insured, and working in your city right now.
We also handle commercial and multi-unit projects: restaurant patios, hotel pool decks, condo rooftop platforms, and municipal park installations. Same BestDecks contract, same warranty, same code compliance — scaled to the project.
Our commitment.
We build every BestDecks project the way we'd build one for our own homes — because our crews genuinely do. Every job is backed by the BestDecks warranty: structural guarantee on framing and footings, workmanship coverage on the finished deck, and a single point of contact if anything needs attention years later. When a material has a weakness — composite getting hot in direct Alberta sun, PVC turning brittle below -4°C, cedar greying without regular sealing — we tell you before we quote it, because a deck you love five summers from now is the only kind worth building.
